Arts Integration Spring Break Institute
Tuesday and Wednesday, April 11 and 12 | 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
These two-day intensive workshops focus on building arts integration in the classroom in key areas of the curriculum. Day one focuses on enhancing social studies instruction with the incorporation of images and objects to build critical thinking skills and encourage empathy among students. Day two delves into STEAM instruction, exploring the elements of math, science, and design as they intersect with artistic principles and ideas. All sessions feature firsthand exploration of objects both in the CMA Collection and the featured exhibition Reverent Ornament: Art from the Islamic World.
Special guest instructors include Stephen Corsini, K-12 social studies education associate at the SC Department of Education, and Marc Drews, vice president of mission and strategic partnerships at EdVenture and board member of the SC Council for Teachers of Mathematics.
Free. Registration is required as space is limited. All materials are provided, and each recipient will receive a digital toolkit and $225 stipend. Participants earn 10 hours of professional renewal credit.
