Boyd Plaza is a city park. Per City of Columbia ordinance, it is currently closed.
The CMA sits adjacent to one of downtown Columbia's treasures, Boyd Plaza. Completely renovated in 2019, Boyd Plaza offers plenty of seating, plenty of shade, and landscaping and fountains that make for a relaxing place to rest during a busy day on Main Street. This gift to the city from The Darnall W. and Susan F. Boyd Foundation Inc. is the perfect spot for a little reading, hanging out with friends for lunch, or even impromptu meetings every day.
It’s also an outstanding opportunity to build community through arts and cultural activities. The CMA is inviting people into Boyd Plaza with an inaugural year of programming including music, theater, visual art, dance, literature, and more.
This project was supported by a grant from the Knight Foundation Fund and by a Connected Communities grant at Central Carolina Community Foundation.
