Make an incredible difference as an individual or private sponsor! Over 70% of funding for our major exhibitions at the CMA are underwritten by individual sponsors.
By becoming a sponsor, your company can tap into an audience of educated professionals and up-and-comers who appreciate quality of life and life-long learning. There are a number of sponsorship opportunities available, all of which offer high visibility in the community. As always, we work with our corporate sponsors to customize the benefits based on your company's individual needs and requests.
From regional advertising to gallery and banner visibility, your company will be recognized in a multi-faceted marketing campaign that promotes the exhibition, museum, and community. The museum's development and marketing staff can work with your company to create an engaging strategy that maximizes exposure for both your company and the museum.
"We have long been a supporter of the museum, sponsoring several exhibitions... When trying to recruit attorneys to our Columbia office, especially those from larger cities, the museum is a drawing card for us..."- Edward W. Mullins, Jr., Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP
The Columbia Museum of Art presents several major exhibitions each year, curated by the CMA Curatorial staff and from some of the most prestigious museums in the world. Sponsoring a special exhibition at the CMA is an effective way to support the museum and align your philanthropic goals and interests with unique opportunities. The CMA enjoys an annual attendance of over 135,000 visitors and a membership base of over 3,200 households. Sponsorship benefits are fully customizable and designed to provide you visibility and access that maximizes the impact of your charitable investment.
Education and community outreach programs for children are an important part of the museum's mission. The CMA provides many excellent opportunities for art education, and our school programs are recognized for their excellence in providing students of all ages with state and national standards-based cross-curricular learning experiences. The CMA believes in developing students’ creative skills, along with furthering their imagination and critical thinking, through partnerships with teachers and community leaders who are invested in their success. Support from individuals and a business alike is critical to successfully reaching South Carolina's children from all socioeconomic groups. The CMA reaches over 16,000 children annually who benefit from the museum's education and outreach programs.

“At Boeing, innovation is our lifeblood. The arts inspire innovation by leading us to open our minds and think in new ways about our lives- including the work we do, the way we work, and the customers we serve.” W. James McNerney, Jr., Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, The Boeing Company
The most talked about event of the year is not only a great party to attend, but also a fun way to sponsor the Columbia Museum of Art. The CMA’s annual black tie gala indulges the senses with lavish entertainment and decorations, delicious hors d’oeuvres and libations, fabulous dance music, and live performances. Proceeds support the museum’s mission to inspire, educate, and enrich lives through art.
Individual and corporate sponsorships are available at the $15,000, $10,000, $5,000, $2,500, $1,000, and $500 levels. Among the benefits of sponsorship are tickets to the event for you and guests, prominent recognition in Gala promotions (including invitations, marketing, website, newsletters, and press releases), and recognition during the night of the event.
Community, Education and Focus Gallery exhibitions are opportunities for individuals and companies to support small shows with big impact. Community and Education Gallery exhibitions highlight work created by members of the community, students, and educators in K-12 school programs, while Focus Gallery shows are drawn from either the CMA’s collection, museums around the nation, or the work in a private collection.

Individual and corporate sponsorships help underwrite the concert expenses and bring a year full of wonderful chamber music. The Columbia Museum of Art is proud to host CMA Chamber Music on Main featuring artistic Director Edward Arron in the Dubose-Poston Reception Hall of the museum each year. We hope you will consider supporting this chamber music concert series with a sponsorship of $5,000, $2,500, $1,000, or $500 this year.
