Meet the Designer: The Lady

The Lady, an ambitious mixed-use redevelopment endeavor at the corner of Lady and Sumter streets in Columbia, is a collection of history, design, and the celebration of city living. Three unique building structures, designs, and character traits all now live and circulate as one, while each keeps its original charm and idiosyncrasies.

Developers Julie and David Tuttle give the Columbia Design League a behind-the-scenes tour of The Lady and discuss the ideas and process behind the design and how they collaborated with local designers, artists, and collectors to bring The Lady to life. Julie, co-founder of Cola Love, also shares the story behind the local movement to create an ecosystem from a place of love and their goal to do that by activating commercial space with one-of-a-kind pop-up events providing cultural opportunities through experiential design.  $10 / Free for CDL members.
