Gallery Tour: Carolina in the Collection

Sunday
February 9, 2020
1:00 pm

Discover the rich artistic tapestry of South Carolina. See works by artists in our state and treasures that once adorned local homes. Learn about the Charleston Renaissance, Catawba pottery, and artists right here in Columbia while you explore works by Frank Lloyd Wright, Richard Samuel Roberts, Osamu Kobayashi, and more.

Most museums organize art by era or location, but the CMA's Collection has been reimagined around common themes like "Masterpieces" and "Art and Identity." This unique arrangement of pieces allows us to compare ancient and contemporary art to see how certain ideas endure throughout human history.
