Plan Your Visit

Your museum will remain open throughout the entire process with a full schedule of exhibitions and programs on the first floor. So please come and visit! Here’s the most up-to-date information to help you plan:

Current Effects on the Building

Right now the first floor galleries are open. Renovations are taking place in public spaces; you'll see a construction wall to your right as you walk in, which protects us from work taking place along the Main Street side of the building. The second floor is closed.

Admission is reduced to half price throughout the process of renovations.

Adults $6
Seniors $5
Military $5 FREE.
The CMA is a Blue Star Museum, and offers free admission to active duty military and their families from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day.
Students $2.50
Children (6 and under) FREE
Does not apply to groups.

We are also offering free admission on second Sundays throughout the process. Free admission on the second Sunday of each month includes featured exhibitions.

Renovation pricing is partially funded through the Karen Brosius National Medal Fund. Free admission on second Sundays sponsored by BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina

Group Tours and School Visits

Group tours and school visits are available and qualify for reduced admission throughout renovations. Get more information here

The CMA will be available for rentals throughout the renovation process. In fact, we’re offering a 20% renovation discount on rentals during this time.

However, as renovation work moves throughout the building, different areas will be unavailable for use for special events. Our projected schedule is:

Through March 2018
The second floor is unavailable for rent

May - November 2018
The first floor is unavailable for rent

Contact our rentals team to learn more.

Parking is completely unaffected by renovations. Metered parking is available on the street, and a city parking garage is available a block away at the corner of Taylor and Sumter Streets.
