The CMA is undergiong renovations, but don't let that stop you from coming to visit!
Current Effects on the Building
Right now both the first floor exhibition galleries and the second floor collection galleries are open. The CMA Shop is currently closed, but you can still shop online. Museum admission is half price throughout renovations.
Work is taking place in public spaces; you'll see a construction wall to your right as you walk in, which protects us from work taking place along the Main Street side of the building. The Reception Gallery, which is to the left of the lobby, is blocked off with plastic sheeting. Noise and activity levels change frequently so you may hear work going on as you visit.
Boyd Plaza is also undergoing renovations, and fencing surrounds the entire plaza. The CMA's entryway is accessible from the Main Street side where there is a gap between the building and the plaza fencing.
Admission is reduced to half price throughout the process of renovations.
|Children (6 and under)||FREE
Does not apply to groups.
We are also offering free admission on second Sundays throughout the process. Free admission on the second Sunday of each month includes featured exhibitions.
Group Tours and School Visits
Group tours and school visits are available and qualify for reduced admission throughout renovations. Get more information here.
The CMA will be available for rentals throughout the renovation process. In fact, we’re offering a 20% renovation discount on rentals during this time.
However, as renovation work moves throughout the building, different areas will be unavailable for use for special events. Our projected schedule is:
Through March 2018
The second floor is unavailable for rent
May - November 2018
The first floor is unavailable for rent
Parking is completely unaffected by renovations. Metered parking is available on the street, and a city parking garage is available a block away at the corner of Taylor and Sumter Streets.
