The CMA is open for Martin Luther King Jr. Day with free admission, multiple exhibitions, and a day of celebration with the Friends of African American Art & Culture.
Come see Renée Cox: Soul Culture, an exhibition using the body as central image to promote positivity and empowerment. A guided tour of the exhibition is offered at 1:00 p.m. And don't miss the last day of Henri Matisse: Jazz & Poetry on Paper, an exhibition offering meditations on life, love, hardship, and utter joy.
This is also the first day of the exhibition of bridge/refrain, a short film by Roni Nicole Henderson exploring a young woman’s arrival to the land of the ancestors after falling victim to gun violence. In conjunction with the film, the FAAAC presents In Celebration of Dreamers, a day of lively self-care for all ages.
