Focal Points Tour: Beyond Representation

Celebrate SC Pride with CMA Director of Learning and Engagement Chadric Devin on a tour highlighting works by queer artists in the CMA Collection. Using the body as a point of departure, explore how these artists challenge fixed understandings of the body, navigating the spaces between representation and abstraction, presence and absence. 

Through close looking and conversation, participants are encouraged to consider how bodies are continuously reimagined through art and how queer perspectives can transform the ways we see and understand them. 

Focal Points is a series of gallery talks featuring topics and themes near and dear to the hearts of docents and staff.
