FAAAC Presents About Town: A Conversation with Artist Charles Eady
Thursday
February 26, 2026
6:00 pm-7:30 pm
In celebration of Black History Month, Friends of African American Art & Culture invites members to an intimate evening with artist Charles Eady at the 701 Center for Contemporary Art (701 Whaley Street, second floor). This exclusive program centers on The Unscene South, a powerful exhibition that brings forward overlooked histories of free Black communities in the antebellum South. The evening begins with a 25-minute artist presentation in which Eady discusses his research-driven practice, his creative process, and the historical narratives that inform the work on view. Following the presentation, attendees get a guided gallery walkthrough, engaging directly with the artist in conversation and reflection as they move through the exhibition. This members-only experience offers a unique opportunity to connect art, history, and place while honoring Black resilience, visibility, and cultural legacy.
Free. FAAAC members only. Not an FAAAC member? Join today!
