Saturday, March 21 | Tour 11:00 a.m.| Edit-a-Thon Noon – 3:00 p.m.
Did you know that 90% of Wikipedia articles are written by men? You can help change that statistic. In celebration of Women’s History Month, the CMA and University of South Carolina School of Visual Arts and Design are joining forces as part of the larger Art+Feminism movement to help better represent women, LGBTQ, and gender non-binary folks on Wikipedia. Kick off the day with Curator Catherine Walworth, Ph.D., for a Focal Points: Broad Strokes tour of women in the CMA collection galleries at 11:00. Then jump into editing mode from noon to 3:00. No prior Wikipedia experience is necessary; we will offer tutorials for beginners, art history reference materials, and extra support. While some laptops will be available, you are encouraged to bring your own laptop, power cord, and extension cord if possible. Please create your own Wikipedia account prior to the event.
Tour free with membership or admission. Edit-a-thon free.
