Art Class: Unlocking Abstraction

Tuesdays, June 9, 16, and 23 | 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Explore hands-on abstraction techniques with local painter Victoria Rickards in this three-session class. With inspiration from featured exhibition Rodney McMillian: A Son of the Soil, participants learn how to move beyond realism and tap into their own abstract side through guided exercises, experimentation, and studio practice. This class is designed to provide practical tools, fresh inspiration, and confidence in developing a personal, expressive style. Ages 15 and up. All materials and equipment provided.

$200 / $160 for members. Members get priority registration through Wednesday, April 8. Join today!

Victoria Rickards is a Columbia-based artist, lighting designer, and scenic designer. Her work has been exhibited at Art Basel Miami and the Columbia Museum of Art, where she has also participated in the multiple events and programs. She has been featured in Forbes for her contributions to contemporary art. Her practice includes painting, installation, and design, with an emphasis on abstraction as a tool for emotional and conceptual expression.
