The Change Has Already Started

This Website
One of the earliest projects we took on in the capital campaign was this website. We focused on making it as easy to use as possible with clear navigation, lot of large images, and, most importantly, a responsive design that works well on any device.

Our Presence on Main Street
We've added large banners along the side of the building depicting works from the collection. These banners show pedestrians and drivers alike that they can find world-class art right here on Main Street.

The CMA Shop Entrance
To become even more a part of the downtown experience, we’ve added a bright, colorful awning above the CMA Shop entrance.

Visual Thinking Strategies
Our Education & Engagement team has had training to become certified in Visual Thinking Strategies, which is an approach to arts education that focuses on collaboration and creativity. This welcoming, inclusive method puts you in charge of your own experience. You can learn more about it here.

Lectus Stools
Sit down and stay a while! We want you to be comfortable in the galleries, and we want you to take all the time you’d like to enjoy your experience. So, we’ve added lightweight, portable seating that you can carry with you as you explore and be ready to take a moment to sit down and dig in to anything you see.

Temporary Gallery Closures Upstairs
As we get ready for the real renovation work to begin, we’ve temporarily closed the collection galleries upstairs. Our curatorial team has meticulously moved each artwork into storage for safekeeping.
