Buy Tickets! Online Auction!The Columbia Museum of Art’s premier event of the year will be red hot in celebration of the Museum’s 60th anniversary. This black-tie gala indulges the senses with elegant decorations, delectable cuisine by Southern Way, fanciful libations, and live performances. Entertainment includes fabulous big band dance music, a piano bar, jazz musicians and a number of surprises throughout the evening. Taking advantage of every square inch of the museum building, including a large future expansion space, gala volunteers transform the Museum into a spectacle of sheer delight. The featured exhibition, The Chemistry of Color: Contemporary African-American Artists, will be on view as well as the newly installed museum collection.

Among the highlights of the evening is the unveiling of a commissioned Dale Chihuly chandelier that will grace the Museum’s David Wallace Robinson, Jr. Atrium and DuBose-Poston Reception Hall. The Contemporaries, the Museum’s young professional membership group, raised significant funds for the commission from the world-renowned Seattle glass artist. The one-ton, colorful chandelier will make a spectacular visual impact in the Museum’s public space at 14’ tall by 5’ wide and 11’ deep.

A volunteer committee of over 70 people from the community is organizing the event. Carol Shropshire serves as the Gala Chair. Committee chairs include:
