COLUMBIA, SC - The Columbia Museum of Art announces the appointment of Victoria Cooke as Curator.

Cooke recently served as the director of the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art at St. Petersburg College in Florida. She begins at the CMA on Monday, January 7.

I am excited to return to being a curator working with strong collection of fine art and an engaging exhibition schedule, Cooke said.

Cooke studied at the University of Delaware with a focus on the history of art and architecture in Europe. She is a published author and popular speaker and has taught art history at the college level. Cooke looks forward to helping the CMA attract a diverse and younger audience while building upon the current programming.

I am pleased to bring Victoria to the Museum. Her expertise in European art along with her knowledge of the modern and contemporary field will help in expanding learning opportunities for the community, CMA executive director Karen Brosius said.

Cooke is a member of Association of Art Museum Curators, American Alliance of Museums, Association of Academic Museums and Galleries, and the Southeastern Museum Conference programming committee, among others.
