Dr. Akel Kahera explores the major issues of image, text and form by inviting participants to examine the adornment of geometry in Islamic visual expression. Dr. Kahera is the Associate Dean of the College of Architecture, Art and Humanities at Clemson University.

Dinner and a Movie with Steven Naifeh5:30 p.m.
Spend an evening with artist and author Steven Naifeh by enjoying a cocktail hour and then a tour of his major exhibition at the CMA, Found in Translation: The Art of Steven Naifeh, all topped off with a BBQ dinner. After dinner, stroll down to the Nickelodeon Theater to enjoy popcorn, desserts and drinks while watching the film, Pollock. This film was inspired by Naifeh's Pulitzer Prize winning book, Jackson Pollock: An American Saga.
